Spurs lose dogfight against Warriors, 100-109.

With the win-less road trip over, the Spurs returned home and looked strong early. They found themselves in a fight with a familiar foe, however, and despite a neck-and-neck war, it was the Warriors' brief run in the final quarter that would be the difference. Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard would make perimeter shots courtesy of Avery Bradley's steal on the ball to stay within striking distance, but they also missed a shot each that would've tied the game in the waning seconds.

At halftime, the Spurs held a one-point lead, but it was Golden State shooting 57% to SA's 50%, with the Spurs winning the glass by one, both teams combining for 34 assists, a tug of war between these proficient western conference juggernauts. Leonard finished with 29 points, but shot just 3-9 from long range despite nine rebounds and three steals. Patty Mills had 26 points with 6 assists, making seven 3PT bombs. Kyle O'Quinn had a surprising 13 points with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, showcasing his ability to run the floor on a coast-to-coast layup at the basket. Iman Shumpert chipped in 11 points with a block, a steal and five assists. Avery Bradley had just 4 points on 1-7 shooting, going 0-5 from long range. He nabbed two steals, however.

With only nine points of separation, it was the Warriors winning the first quarter 25-22 and the final quarter 39-32, as the teams stalemated the third 22-all and the Spurs won the second 24-23.

Kevin Durant scorched the Spurs with 37 points and 9 rebounds, making five long ballls on 15-25 overall. Steph Curry had 21 points and 10 assists, going just 3-8 from deep. Klay Thompson had 17 points with 5 assists. Jordan Bell had 19 rebounds with 8 points, with Andre Iguodala notching 10 points. Draymond Green had 13 rebounds with 7 points and Shaun Livingston wound back the block for a nasty dunk on the fast break in the final quarter as the deficit began to grow.

Both teams combined for 25 three-pointers, the Spurs barely winning the paint 42-40, but the Warriors crushing them in transition 30-8 and on the glass 64-44.

As always, the next meeting will be must-see as this rivalry only intensifies.
